Design Context Books / Design Context
For my design context brief i want to focus on four different sections, these sections are what i base my practise on and how i generate visuals for my designs and projects.
As design context is all about inspirations, this is what i was to focus on, excluding concepts, annotation and precision.
I want to strip down to what influences me visually and what my eye is drawn to naturally.
These four things are
-COLOUR
-OBJECTS
-IMAGES
-MOVEMENT
My plan is to create four informal publications/posters/zines or some sort of interactive design using these areas of inspiration as a base for each piece of design.

Brief no.4 Fashion Student Collab
Looking at some fold out poster inspiration, i like these simple monochrome prints, I'm thinking of creating a poster with naomis collection on it like the ones below as a piece of promotional material for her as a fashion designer

Brief no.4 Fashion student collab
Looking at special finishes and unite add ons to her branding and identity...
Having something interactive and useful like perforated contact details on her look book would be nice... i like the way the stitching work as a perforation here, this would be good to use as it resembles fashion and the production of her garments.
Having some sort of transparent case for her identity to reflect the concept of layers in her collection
I also like this black tape holding the white stock together very simply
or maybe a spot finish like foil blocking or printing onto a metallic card, but pearl coloured, keeping in with the theme

Brief no.4 Fashion student collab
A range of design inspiration for naomis branding and identity, looking at different ways of using only black and white and grey within the stock, type and image.
I think so far i am thinking of not even using black, just grey and white, using naomis collection 'garments' as a colour palette.

Brief no.4 Fashion student collab
Another example for inspirition for naomis branding and identity, minimal with no colours except black for the text, i love this set as its so clean and simple, something like this would reflect naomis collection perfectly, although i would need to ensure the stock is excellent quality and the type is spot on as the these would be the main focuses and stand out due to it being so simple.
Brief no.4 Fashion student collab
Another example of minimal branding and identity, this me with a brown stock, if i were to use another colour other than black and white i would probably use a brown similar to the one in the image below as it is plain and minimal yet gives the set more of a visually attractive look when photographed.
Brief no.4 Fashion student collab
Again another nice example of minimal, colourless set of branding, i like the outline around the business card in this particular example, it gives the set more of structure and finish. Also the silver bubble wrap envelope is a different touch to the identity, i do need to think of a unique addition to naomis branding as at the moment it is a little too plain, that was her branding will be more memorable to naomis audience.
Brief no.4 Fashion student collab
As for Naomis branding as a whole i want to keep it as minimal as possible, using white and grey stocks only and the text screen printed in white, and if the white isn't readable enough then black or grey.
I feel this would reflect the concept of not only her final collection but her as a designer as her works is always driven by minimalism and quality within her materials and practise.

Researching into packaging for her look book for her exhibition
Using a thin stock that can be easily ripped would be a nice element for the book, as one of Naomis concept is layering.
having her book or identity in some sort of transparent material is another possibility, it looks fresh and clean and minimal
naomi is using white wire hangers in her exhibition to display her garments, we had the idea of having her identity and look book hanging with her garments before seeing this on interest, this is a possibility for the display and distribution of her promotion at her exhibition
or i could keep it extra simple and have a label bonding her look book together, but i don't really like this idea as it don't seem durable enough and once opened it becomes visually poorer.
Again some transparent packaging but with some type printed onto it, generating layers
